Carbon-Viesa anti-scale filter for Holiday evaporative air conditioners
The Carbon-Viesa Filter, developed by ACQUATRAVEL, a specialist in water treatment on board recreational vehicles, for VIESA evaporative air conditioners traps foreign substances and impurities downstream of the system and transforms limestone into aragonite, supplying purified water to the HOLIDAY unit installed on the roof of the camper.
Acquatravel srl, a specialist in water treatment for recreational vehicles, in collaboration with Vigia Viesa Italy, the Italian distributor of the popular Holiday IIIs rooftop evaporative air conditioner for campers, presents “Carbon-Viesa,” a new water filter capable of retaining particles larger than 5 microns and converting limestone into aragonite, thus feeding the evaporative unit with water completely free of impurities and limescale.
As many European campers know, VIESA systems cool the air entering the cabin by evaporating water using a special patented evaporative filter made of natural materials. To operate, they draw water directly from the drinking water tank. VIESA has always treated the water with an antibacterial product (Calfabas).
During periodic maintenance (annual or biennial), VIESA-authorized technicians clean the Holiday’s tank and internal components with a wash that also removes limescale deposits. If the water entering the circuit contains a lot of calcite (calcium carbonate), limescale can form on the Holiday’s tank walls, similar to what happens in household washing machines and dishwashers.
All campers who use particularly hard water or who draw from unconventional water sources containing impurities will find this new filter particularly interesting. Carbon-Viesa is equipped with a magnet that transforms calcium into aragonite, a mineral that prevents clumps and scale from forming. Another interesting feature of Carbon-Viesa is the activated carbon and coconut fiber filter that traps any larger particles, thus preventing sand, dust, or other elements present in the drinking water tank from reaching the VIESA Holiday tank.
The Carbon-Viesa filter consists of a fabric casing (pre-filter) and the actual filter, combined into a single system that optimizes space and facilitates installation. Regular maintenance is quick and easy because you simply replace the fabric casing containing the activated carbon.
The filter must be installed before the VIESA system tap and is used solely to treat the Holiday’s supply water. Installation can be performed by any specialized workshop, but if the Holiday is under warranty, the Viesa Carbon Filter must be recalibrated by an Authorized VIESA Center to prevent warranty deterioration. The authorized technician must certify that the installation was performed properly, that no VIESA system components have been altered, that the water flow is correctly sized, and that the system is pressure-tight.
